2/18/10–Eat Mor Chikin

My school had a Chick-Fil-A fundraiser tonight.  Soo00…we had a visit from the Cow today!  The kids enjoyed it, and I know I’m always looking for my excuse to Eat Mor Chikin!  And those awesome waffle fries…with mayo.  Mmmmm…

2/17/10–Oops

This is what happens when your 2-year-old gets hold of the camera…

2/16/10–Hey Everybody!

The day came and almost went, and I still hadn’t taken any pictures today. So I whipped out the camera close to bedtime and got a few pics in. Jack was playing with my 3D glasses that I took from the movie theater (no, I didn’t recycle them). Anyway, when I went through the pictures and saw this…

all I could think of was Will Farrell as Harry Caray.

2/15/10–Pop’s Birthday

Shawn’s grandfather is one of the sweetest men you’ll ever meet.  Even in his 80’s, he gets down and plays with the kids.  They love it when we say we’re going to go see Pop & Grandma.  Pop loves and cares for his family in such an amazing way.  And today is his birthday.  Happy Birthday, Pop.  We love you.

2/14/10–E’s Birthday

My brother got married in November, and was blessed with not only a wonderful wife, but also her sweet little girl, E.  They have joined our family and fit in so perfectly, it’s as though they’ve been part of the family forever.  Today is E’s 8th birthday.  She had a great party yesterday, and her mom made this awesome swimming pool cake.  Happy Birthday, E!  We’re so glad you are a part of our family!

2/13/10–Valentine Date

Shawn and I had our Valentine’s Day date a day early.  We were already in Springfield, and Nana & Papa kept the boys.  You take the sitters when you can get them.  We took the opportunity to try something new.  There’s an awesome restaurant in Springfield called Touch.  The food is spectacular, and I can’t recommend it enough.  It’s kind of upscale, Mediterranean-themed menu.  I really wanted to take pictures of the cool decor inside, but given the atmosphere, that would have been tacky.  I had to settle for a picture of the sign outside.  I’ll add a link to the website so you can check it out for yourself.  After dinner, we saw Avatar.  It was good, but after all the hype I’ve heard about it, frankly, I was a little disappointed.  And I don’t think we’ll be doing much 3D.  The glasses gave me a headache.  All in all, though, a GREAT date night.  Happy Valentine’s Day to my sweetheart.

2/12/10–Cupid

Students had a half day of school today so we teachers could sit in meetings all day.  Yippee.  During our time with the kids today, we had different activities we did.  In the gym, our TAs (homeroom) did different team competitions.  Several of the games had a Valentine’s Day twist to them.  For one of the games, we had to shoot an arrow through a hula hoop.  I couldn’t help posing for my self-portrait, and then cheesing it up on picnik.com.  Love it!

2/11/10–On Borrowed Time

I love this barn. Don’t ask my why; I can’t explain it. I just have a thing for old barns. This one is in Joplin, on 20th Street, just west of Duquesne Road. I’ve driven by it countless times the last several years, and I have always wanted to take a picture of it. And today, I finally got the chance. It is slowly collapsing, and while that’s sad, it does make for a cool picture.

2/10/10–C.’s birthday

I’m a bad aunt.  I’m going to try & post pictures of important people in my life for their birthdays.  Yesterday was my niece C’s 6th birthday.  I didn’t forget it was her birthday, I just forgot to post her picture.  This was taken a couple weeks ago at another birthday party.

C is the sweetest thing!  She has gorgeous red hair I would kill for, and the most adorable smile you ever saw.  Happy birthday, sweetheart!  Aunt Sarah loves you!

2/9/10–Morning Sun

“The morning brings a mystey,

The evening makes it history,

Who am I to rate the morning sun?”

“Morning Sun” by Robbie Williams; from my new favorite CD Reality Killed the Video Star

I’ve been thinking of this song a lot lately, hoping I’d be able to get a shot that fits it.
